Officer Mage (Imagedit Book 10)

Some nice romance and some serious events. Dennis keeps being the one to go to and he wants people to start stepping up. Here he has been reluctantly dragged into helping solve cold cases. The author does a good job showing the different outcomes police cases can have on the detectives, the victims, and the families of people involved. Looking forward to the next book.

As always I enjoyed this book. Fun read. I like that the books have departed from the endless ship battles, though I enjoyed each of those books too. I look forward to seeing what direction Ellis takes this new police officer mage development. As always I highly recommend Ellis's books. I've enjoyed each of them a lot.

Dennis and Elle are getting even further railroaded. Will they be able to derail the plans for them before it gets worse? Dennis just wants to peacefully rescue cats from trees, etc. I enjoyed this one and I am looking forward to the next. 🥰

Dennis just needs to realize how “Essential” he is! This was/is another great story! Dennis’s ability to find things, people, evidence, places and such is such an amazing gift. It’s unfortunate he is so negative about the continued success. Sure hope they find others that can be trained to do the work! I like that Elle is considering the Mercenary role and hope she proceeds with starting her own company and being a gun for hire. Also, hoping Dennis stops stalling and “Puts-a-ring-on-it” He’s got a great thing going and deserves the happiness! A big wedding would make for a great chapter or two followed by a honeymoon with all the crazy twists like still responding to calls and emergencies like they do! Very excited to see where this goes! Still hoping for a visit by Merlin in one of these chapters. Really thought the chaos magic was a lead into Merlin back in the light. Even a showing of him and Zee at the big wedding! Possibilities are endless! Love these amazing stories! Can’t wait to read more!

I'm really enjoying this series. This book was sad and fun. I like the daily life of cases that are not the same, but go in the same direction. I was just thinking where the overall story will go after this series. This, I think, was the first series that was civilian based. All the other books had politics and military as the main part. The people were military or just recently left the military. Also, all this time Dennis has been told he would be a good trainer. We get to find out in the next book. ** spolier** Not sure if this question is a spoiler, but just in case. When will we find out more about the Loki and Thor connection? Was that a one time thing? Is there more to it? Are the chaos Terrans a part of it? Is there a reason for the wild magic? Will we ever find out?

Using a Master mage to build a cold case division is a Proof of Concept (PoC) good Idea for new powers! The hesitation of helping the police as if beneath his abilities(which no one else has) and strikes me as arrogance. Sadly, people of age (even those rejuvenated) are usually only interested in watching it rain(or snow or..) a default attitude.

This is a series about a man who finds out he isn’t a man in his late 60s. He has been a jack of all trades and now has to be trained in how to live his life in a new way. He ends up doing a lot of very practical things with his magic, and this is helpful to a lot of people. You can read this particular series completely by itself without having to read the whole enormous series that the author has made, but you might want to start with the Killer Bunny book if you want more background without going all the way to the beginning. The biggest problem I have with this series is that I have to wait on the next book. I absolutely love this character and the things that he does to make his life work.

Just like the other books in this series this is a really good read.

A very enjoyable, but dark in a couple of chapters
