NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level 2 Study Guide Review: Great exam study guide - It's nice somebody has taken the time to build this guide. While the material is a little outdated, a lot of questions are still relevant. They will get you used to navigating the NFPA 72 and NEC 70 text. I passed my level 2 exam. While my particular test didn't have too many questions from this guide, it was still helpful and I still passed. Review: Typos but good - There are a substantial amount of typos, the author even mentions it in the forward of the book but u get the picture of what’s going to be in the test. Nice book.

Great exam study guide

Practiced for 2 days and passed the test
Have had Nicet fire alarm systems level 1 for years but didn’t bother going for level 2 until now. Wanted something to practice with so decided to check this book out. Used this book in conjunction with nfpa 72 2016/NEC 2014/ IBC 2015. Answered all of the Questions over a 2 day period before testing for fire alarm systems level 2. Passed! While this book (or any book besides the actual code books) doesn’t actually teach u the answers. It does help build a very nice familiarity with all 3 of the books allowed into the test. When it was time to sit down and test I already knew a bunch of sections and how to quickly find what topics I was looking for to answer questions. The only reason this book is at 4 instead of 5 stars is a few typos and a couple questions don’t match the answers or the how to get to the answers. However it’s minimal and didn’t affect my outcome. Worth a purchase if your looking to advance to nicet fire alarm level 2

The key to success is in this book
I passed my Fire Alarm Systems level 2 because of this book. The book is very detailed its not just about question and answer it's about how to look up a answer. It got me to think in ways I've never thought before. It got me prepared enough that once I took the test my book was easy to navigate and found the answer quickly. I found that to pass this test navigation of the NFPA 72, IBC, NEC is the key to success. This is a must have if you have any doubts about taking the test.

Helped Me Pass The Test On The First Attempt
After buying the first study guide for NICET level I successfully, I bought this one for the second test. This book is similar to the first edition but the questions are more extensive for level II. Helped greatly in passing the second test, again on the first try.

Typos and wrong answers
It has a few typos. A couple pages are wrong. Question 84 on page 89 to be exact. References the wrong section for an answer that they get wrong on the answer area. Asks about db level, tell you to check circuits and pathways of nfpa 72 2013.

If you have never worked in the industry.....
If you've never worked in the industry, then this book will be helpful for you. It trains you to look at the answer to decipher it to know where to look in the standards. I paid $54 for this and I was a little disappointed. It's more like a $20 book. I actually expected more insight for understanding the codes and standards in the test. The back of the book has fingerprints on it and some sort of sticky blue stuff as if some child handled the book before I got it.
