Mens Scottish Prince Charlie Kilt Jacket with Vest

I ordered this jacket & vest for my sons' prom and we were both thrilled. I was skeptical when I saw the price, but knew this wasn't 100% wool and knew I was looking more for affordability than quality. I am happy to say that the quality is excellent! I read several of the reviews prior to ordering & followed the advice to order a size up. My son is a 38 & we ordered a 40, which was a smidgen too big, but fit nicely. The only drawback to the jacket was that the sleeves were a little long, but that can be fixed. My son plays bagpipes and wanted a jacket & vest that wouldn't be too snug. I think the 38 would have been too tight for him. Pro's Looks fantastic! If you're looking for an authentic jacket & vest from Scotland that's 100% wool, this is not the item for you. If you are looking for a quality made jacket & vest that looks nice with a kilt and won't break the bank, you can't beat this one! On a side note, I had ordered a similar jacket & vest that was more expensive & ended up returning it because it was very wrinkled and had strings hanging off it. The quality was cheap and I was pretty disappointed. I was extremely happy with this one!

Sized perfectly and spot on. Sleeves are perfect. I play bagpipe and need them just a little long (they are not overly long). Buttons look good. Came packed folded up and wrinkle but the steam iron took them right out. The vest is nice and adjustable. the button holes could be a little bigger - it's a little hard to get the square button through. I am very pleased and impressed with this purchase!

For a last minute purchase it worked admirably. A bit loose - it needs tailoring - but I knew it would be (my chest is 47", this is fitted for 48"). Good quality and a good value; I was complimented frequently. Thank you for a good coat & waistcoat.

It showed up wrinkled from being in the bag, but after using a steamer it straightened out nicely. And it looked great with my kilt! I got a lot of compliments.

This is a great quality jacket and the look is perfect. You do have to order one size up so for me I'm a 42 and I ordered a 44. I'm tall so the arm length was perfect. And the way the arms are tailored they fall right. But I had to return the jacket because the chest area of the jacket is cut and tailored in a way that instead of hanging in the front like on the picture it opens up and hangs on the sides of your body and it looks really weird.

I had to replace my Prince Charlie jacket that i have had for almost 30 years and bought in Scotland because it had become to tight. I had tried a few others and had to return them as they quality and/or fit was so bad. And some were down right horrible as far as cut and finish. I ordered this one and when I removed it from the packaging it was definitely needing steamed and pressed to remove the creases from shipping, but i could tell it was a much better finish and looked more like you would expect a Prince Charlie jacket to look. This jacket was true to size. The fabric, although not the same quality of my original jacket that i was replacing was one quarter of the cost of my other one and for the amount of times i will wear, it it is really great value. The jacket is light weight so if you are in a warmer climate or going to be indoors you will like it. As I mentioned i bought this to replace my original Prince Charlie jacket and if i have to get another, for some reason, in a few years i would not mind. I recommended this product for the person who id looking for the Prince Charlie jacket for occasional use, a couple of times a year or so.

The sizing chart is completely wrong. Couldn't even get my arm in. Now I've missed the return window and can't return it.... Waste of my time and money.

OK. I ordered this expecting to return it. But at less than $90 for a jacket and vest? Worth a shot at least, right? Even though a $90 vest & jacket is too good to be true. Well, the bad news is that yes, a $90 Prince Charlie is too good to be true. The good news is that this one turns out to be legit. Material is nice (although it is rayon, it has a soft feel and looks good); it's fully lined. The buttons are a little loose, but that's easy to fix, and it came with spares. I'm normally a 44r. I ordered the 46r, and it fits great. Sleeves are cut very well, the range of movement is comfortable. Its not perfect, by any means. That would require a wool blend, but the bottom line is this: you simply will not find a better Prince Charlie at less than $250. If you're looking for a budget Prince Charlie that will pass muster at a formal occasion, this is the one.

The material isn't wool but very good quality for the price. Very happy with it

The fabric is lighter weight than we typically see in Canada. I was disappointed with the finish, the button holes on the vest were too small for the buttons and the edges were not sewn as button holes just a cut in the fabric. It will have to go to a tailor before I can wear it.
