Electric Bicycle Conversion Kit Installation - Made Simple (How to Design, Choose, Install and Use an e-Bike Kit)

Author spent a total of 7 out of 150 pages talking in general about installing a kit and even that was not useful. Rest of the book is ramblings about bikes and childhood. nothing on design or detailed installation. I normally read the reviews, but didn't this time and paid the price. Book is going back.

I read this hoping to get more Ideas for cost effectiveness.,No not here .Tips on the best kits that lasted the longest, Not Here. Easy step by step or short cuts,Not Here. Wrapping your self in ECO flags , Yes. Health benefits, Yes. Usable information that you can only get with this book, No. I hope that It helps someone less knowledgable than me, While it was a quick read It did put a fire in my belly to build my commuter tricycle.

Very informative! Lots to considered in choosing the right bike and kit. A must read before just jump in. Enjoy!

Facts are few in this book and the author rattles on about about everything else other than ebikes. The only thing new that I learned was that ebikes only go 5 miles on a charge. So I am not getting one until that improves.

The author seemed to bang on about the environment then as an after-thought put in the information that relates to the title. There are much better books around on this topic.e.g. Matthew Slinn's "Build Your Own Electric Bicycle".

The first half of this book is about how green the author is or isn't. The second half is useful to anticipate issues in an electric bike conversion. Missing were two issues of concern: 1) Is an aluminum fork strong enough for the front hub motor? and 2) since most will start out with the lower cost, but heavier lead-acid battery, what are the factors involved in switching to Lithium? There are many lithium sources on the internet, it would be good to get an appraisal of them....

MR Rosay had about ten pages of fresh ideas and stated over and over in slightly differant wording. If you are looking for construction help look else ware if you are trying to decide what type of bike to build then this book is for you

This book was absolutely useless, I understood from the blurb that it would be of help technically, it was useless ! If I needed help to fit the carry baskets on, great, but as a help to sort out an actual ebike it was just money wasted. Don't bother with this if you need help with building or understanding ebikes .

Unless you would like to know a full history about cycles and cycling do not bother, there was so little about building a Kit to a bike, you are far better getting instructions from the supplier, Do try to insure these are available before you start if you have not attempted it before.
