The ultimate cleaning solution for Guns and guitars
It is a very old school oil cleaner and lubricant and protectant ...Every old school Gunsmith will recommend it for anything that needs an oiling ... But I personally use it for oiling the fretboards of guitars And even for keeping strings in top condition… I find that when you spray and wipe down your strings you can breathe some new life into them and remove days and weeks and months of corrosion and finger funk build up... I just used some on my electric guitar this afternoon that I had not touched in four months and it went from being barely able to stay in tune to feeling like I just put on a brand new set after scrubbing it with a gentle brush and this stuff… You should always keep a can of this in your music room and in your gun closet I just used some on my electric guitar this afternoon that I had not touched in four months and it went from being barely able to stay in tune to feeling like I just put on a brand new set after scrubbing it with a gentle brush and this stuff… You should always keep a can of this in your music room and in your gun closet… The only thing you should not use it on is Black powder... Black powder you should always use grease because what will happen is the black powder when mixed with this stuff will form burnt on crap inside of the barrel and form these tar deposits that will never come out Without a hell of a lot of scrubbing

Good Stuff.
I used Hoppes for many decades but they just have gotten far too expensive and it removed all oil or grease. Had to use a separate lube after cleaning with Hoppes or Ed Red homemade cleaner. This stuff can clean fouling, then wipe down leaving a thin film for rust prevention and general lube. Only re-apply grease when needed.

New go to oil. The gun practically cleans itself now.
Actually keeps fouling from sticking to the gun. The layer left in from the previous cleaning is such that I simply disassemble and wipe down then reapply. About the 3rd cleaning it had become adjusted to this new life of not needing to be scoured. Is good for wood and leather, I use it for just a grab and go oil, does alright in an ultrasonic cleaner when diluted properly, and it emulsifies! It's not an ultra pain in the brass to wash it off. Not a good lotion. I mean, it felt good, but I had to remind myself that environmentally freindly doesn't mean it belongs on dry cracked skin. Just a really, really great all around oil for cleaning, lubricating, and protecting things. Don't know what to do with my Break Free CLP now.

Great Multi-Purpose
What can I say that hasn't really already been said. It cleans, lubricates and penetrates any material I have tried it on. No squeaky door hinges, no squeaky firearms. I have heard of it protecting leather, haven't really tried that because I'm not a huge leather person. As for the smell, well... I have been around 80W-90 gear oil and that stuff stinks, so I can handle the little bit of manly oil smell this stuff gives off... but I also like the smell of diesel, so to each their own. I like to keep all of my tools, knives, and anything that moves cleaned/lubricated and this does all of that and so much more. Now I don't have to worry about having multiple different lubricants laying around waiting for a use. I very much appreciate the spray bottle because I prefer the wipe on method versus getting a spray everywhere.

Lubricant
This is a great product to prevent rust on high carbon steel blades. Highly recommend. Long time user also. A little goes a long way and also great on garden shears.

Smells like the devil, cleans like an angel.
I love Ballistol. It's great stuff, and keeps my firearms looking lovely and operating well. I recommend it to all of my new sportsman friends who are looking for a CLP. It smells like black licorice mixed with something kind of rotten to be quite honest, but its performance is well worth the stench. I did knock 1 star off of my review, not for the product's performance, but the delivery system it comes packaged in. The bottles should have some sort of easy-pull tab to open them for the first time, but the only way I saw to open it was to stab it in several places with a knife and punch it inward. Doable for sure, but the less random knife stabbing I have to do, the better. My other issue with the container is that the spray nozzle will dribble out a few drops overnight after use. Not that big of a deal, but it can cause a slipping hazard if you aren't aware of it.

The best gun cleaner and lubricant
It cleans the powder residue very well and lubricates. Smells a little funky but it is plant derived. Can also finish wood stocks. I mainly use this or a very thin automotive synthetic oil.

Favorite go-to for gun care
This has been my go-to for gun cleaning and care for many years now. It's safe (and beneficial!) for all gun parts: metal, wood, and leather (for your sling). It might stain fabric, but it's safe for most all slings I've seen. Quality product that I routinely buy and recommend.
