Are these wide fit as some sellers claim?

I bought these in size 11 and were quite a bit tighter than my previous size 11 Hush Puppies. They are not particularly wide in my opinion. Luckily the shoes flex a bit, so still not too uncomfortable.

are they waterproof ?

These shoes are not advertised as waterproof. They are a soft leather and would soak in water. You can use a protector spray that would help to make them a little more splash resistant but would not make them waterproof.
