The padded seat is comfortable, and is a little wider than a standard toilet seat (a good feature). The included commode pail has a handle and a lid. The handle can be removed. This is a very tall commode. When the legs are in the next-to-highest position, the padded seat is 23-1/2" from the floor. (The unpadded seat on my older-model Invacare commode is 21" from the floor when the legs are at the highest position.) At the highest position, the included splash guard is barely long enough to reach the toilet bowl. The frame height is easy to adjust with the pop-up buttons in the legs. Two different lines in the description. **Q: Can this product work with a regular toilet by removing the bucket?** A: Yes it will. You can remove the bucket and place the chair over the toliet. It also comes with a splash guard to replace the bucket which will contain the splashes. The back is removable allowing the seat to slide back towards the toliet tank so you can center the chair above the toliet bowl. **Q: How easy it to wipe while sitting?** A: It is easier than with a regular commode. So far, in my experience, cleaning is very easy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Hip Replacement: Solid, Sturdy, Safe, Adjustable, Comfortable, takes little space. *by J***E on May 20, 2019* I could not decide what to get before I had my hip replacement. I wanted something that was safe, that would not tip over or come loose. I did not know how much of a rise I would need on my existing toilet. To high or to low would be very difficult to use not to mention very painful. I also did not have much room around my toilet to work with so that left some options out. This commode is the best answer. Very sturdy, made of steel, not aluminum, extremely comfortable with the padded seat, easy to assemble. This takes up little floor space, the very solid handles slide down or up with a push of the button, another push of a button and you can raise or lower the seat. You can use it in a bedroom by itself, or over the toilet. This is not going anywhere when you sit on it or when you grab the handles. There is no movement, this is solid, safe, easy to use, very comfortable, very easy to adjust, and will be around for a very long time. I hated to go back to my normal toilet seat, it is not nearly as comfortable as my commode.
