Worked great, plenty of adjustment for any bike with fork center bolt mounted brake
Worked great for my son's 20" bike. He said that he had to have a hand brake like his sister's bike. This one bolted right up to his factory drilled hole in the fork, I trimmed the cable to fit. And there was plenty of adjustment to adjust as needed to fit any size bike. Just using my son's 20" bike as the example of working. What ever makes the kids happy lol

Nice quality
Nice quality item so far, and it was fairly easy to install. It didn’t come with any instructions, but after watching a couple YouTube videos, it was a piece of cake.

The quality of brake is good but
The brake unit is kinda perfect fit for Strider 14X balance US version, but the lever clip actually broken in two pieces when I was installing it, cable was too long so I had to cut the tube and the cable. Even the lever was broken into two, I used a sander to make the cracked opening smooth, so after screwing in with a flat rubber band, it still work, but later finding out the lever and the handle are too far apart, so I decided to buy another lever from amazon because I think this one is tend to fit adult only. The reason I broke the lever because I was trying to expand the opening because the handle cannot come off. And then it broke out in two. Otherwise, the brake just work perfectly, and I just need to buy a lever that’s good for a 6 year old. Oh yeah one thing is so important, you should come with installing manual, it took me a while to understand what I missed. As the lever is kinda easy breakable and no manual, so I like to actually rate it 3.5 stars, or 4.5 if the lever didn’t break. But it’s very good quality otherwise!

Perfect to retrofit away from coaster brakes.
Worked perfectly to retrofit on my son's first bike, a 16" with coaster brakes. He hates the coaster brakes and it make it hard for him to learn, so I added these, removed the coaster and off he went. Component quality is great for the price as well.

Great old school brakes!
These are your basic side pull brakes, but great quality and worked better than expected. Installed as rear brake for my 5 year olds bike. Bike came with coaster brakes and just the front hand brake which was ok, but I really wanted him to learn to use rear hand brake. Cable was really long, which is great so you can cut to perfect length. Some people complained about the brake pads. I’m not sure if they prepped them correctly, but I did and the brakes worked TOO well. My 5 year olds was locking up rear wheel without any problem. Which really upset him because he doesn’t want to wear out the tire. So here’s a tip for those who don’t know. To properly prep brake pads, you have to remove the pads from the caliper and rub them on concrete. Either a sidewalk or driveway. Not a lot, just a couple times to get the glaze off and have a rough surface. You can also use course sand paper, but concrete is my preference. Reinstall, adjust as needed and there you go. This goes for just about any brake pad. Even a good idea every once in a while while doing routine maintenance.

Use as intended
I think the pads they come with are really lacking in stopping power but they are quiet. They would be good for cruising around. The fault with caliper brakes is how much they flex and they will eventually break if abused. These are inexpensive and work really well for what most people intend.

Will break in less than a week. Not the same odyssey we grew up with.
Not what they used to be. The brake bent after less than a week of use. You can see in the pictures that the right pad has moved about an inch an a half in front of the left pad. Fits my 24” Sunday Model C, but not long enough to be useful.

Useful addition to many bikes, but you NEED to buy better brake pads to get the most out of them
Before reading on, if you buy these go ahead and source a set of Eclat Force clear brake pads. Specifically the clear compound. They are extra soft and grippy, which is necessary for these brakes to be useful. The clear pads also make a LOT of noise, so if squeaky brakes bother you, be prepared to just not be able to stop too well. I tried the stock pads, Kool Stop BMX dual compound pads and finally the Eclat clears. The Kool Stops are fine on U or V brakes, but not on these center pivots, although they are a definite upgrade over stock. I don't consider the Kool Stops to be a waste of money, they're on the rear brakes of our bikes now. Other brand clear pads may also work, but the Eclats seem to be the best made of them all and I didn't want to get cheaper ones to then wonder how it could have been for just a few bucks more. Ok, now my full review. I had first installed these brakes on the fork of my kid's first bike, they definitely helped him to stop, so it was a win to me. I later transferred the brake kit to his replacement for that bike, an '08 SE Wildman. I test rode the Wildman and discovered that the stock pads were not really cutting it. I already told the tale, get the Eclat clear pads. I also installed these brakes on the fork of my '18 WTP Crysis. BMX bikes often use brake cables that rout through the star nut and steerer tube, picture proves this brake does work fine in that configuration. Flip the adjuster and the cable stop so the adjuster is on the bottom, run your cable through, zip tie as necessary, adjust and go. If you don't have a hollow star nut, or are using these brakes on a different style of bike, use them as is, they'll be fine... with some Eclat clear pads. The stock Odyssey lever is basic but fine. It is a right hand brake lever, meant for the rear wheel, but if you install it "upside down" on the left side, it works fine and looks fine, just the clamp bolt is on top instead of on the bottom. Not a problem to me at all. Not reason enough to spend more money. So, after the pads, about $40 will get you a cost effective and working front brake for bikes that don't have V or U brake mounts. As a bonus, we don't need a bell anymore to let people know we're around, just grab a little front brake, hahaha.

Facile à installer, tout marche parfaitement !

Didn't realize it came with the cable and lever too. My only complaint is that it's a front brake, but a lever for the rear brake was sent. I already had a new pair of levers, so it wasn't really an issue.

Excellent quality. Fit my 4 stroke motorized cruiser beautifully. Works really great. Pads are good compared to many I've used in my past. Quality product.
