Bought it for a Tubing trip that isn't till end of August but I don't care what people say as long as it works. **Q: Does this product keep me from being beat up all the time?** A: The hat is so bizarre, that people think you are a superhero and gove you mad props for wearing it. Great pruchase! **Q: what is on the top that ventilates a mesh or is it this fabric all the way around, top to bottom?** A: It’s actually two umbrellas Connected... the little one on the top is upside down and can be pushed Into either a concave or convex shape. There’s A little bit of space in between the two. The smaller umbrella covers an opening on the top of the larger umbrella that creates the ventilation. No mesh. I hope that helps. It really works well for rain or sun. **Q: Picture shows top canopy turned upward, inside out. I can't seem to make the one I bought do that, why? I am on medication that causes me to sunburn easily and I do have a garden hat but it won’t do what this Umbrelly hat will do for me. I will be wearing it out for the first time this weekend. It’s a tad difficult to open or close as the directions are kind of lost in translation and a bit rough, but I was able to open and close. Not sure it will last long due to kind of lightweight materials, but if I can use it for a few seasons I’ll be happy! Edited to add: have worn it now for about 4 hours planting my flowerbeds. I also heard from the seller w extra instructional help (kudos for a reply!). I have found it’s a tad heavier when looking down to plant my garden and that if you are wearing it w/long hair, pull it into higher ponytail and it does stay balanced on your head well. Also - a little girl in the neighborhood stopped to giggle at me, and asked why’d I need an umbrella attached to my head!
