VFD Converter,Variable Frequency Drive,220VAC Single Phase Input to 220V Three Phase,for Motor/Spindle Speed Rotation (HY Series 220v 4kW-5HP Model)

Purchased this product Sept. 23, 2019. Installed it on 3 phase 5hp air compressor in my garage that uses typical residential single phase! It is priced affordable if and far is a cheaper option that have 3 phase ran to your house. I am a industrial maintenance technician so setup was easy for me but would not be hard for someone that read understands ins and out of electrical troubleshooting and VFDs. I run the compressor daily and this VFD shows no signs of giving up and has done no harm to compressor electrical components. Will update review if run into future problems or issues.

Downgraded to the HY series because I couldn’t get GT series inverter to work correctly. I really wanted the GT series, but after struggling to get it working correctly I gave up and bought the HY series instead. Tech support was useless. Between the time difference (US vs China) and the lack of a flowing conversation (wait 12 hours for each response and hope they understand what you’ve asked), you’re pretty much on your own with these. The broken English manuals are horrible, but they’re not always easy to interpret. If I had endless time to mess with it, the GT would probably work, but after 2-3 weeks I’ve had enough. Time to move on.

Once I found a you tube for set-up and programming there were no problems. i did have to do it three times, until I got the hang of setting and saving the parameter before going on to the next one. Runs my 3 hp Kingston Bridgeport-clone mill with no problem. Runs cool and quiet, although you can hear the cooling fan running, but that reminds me to shut it down when done.

I’ve had really good luck with these units. In the last week I’ve ordered 3 of them. This one did come damaged on the motor lugs that the motor wire land on between the blue and orange wires. No other issues

After my Automation Direct VFD failed, I decided to try a Chinese brand to run my 2hp pool pump. After reading reviews and applying logic, I decided to get a 5hp VFD. I made a custom control panel with some automation for my AD unit and wanted to use it for this unit. The control is over RS485. There is no documentation on the RS485 protocol - none in the manual or on the manufacturer's website. I found a few commands on a woodworking website, enough to get me by. This unit has some nice features that the AD didn't have such as auto load detect which only delivers enough power to maintain frequency.

I bought this in 2020 it is now 2022 and I still do not have it working, I have never been able to get it to work, Input voltage is 220 and output voltage is 0 . My gripe is if they are going to sell it to everybody then it should be user friendly to anyone or at least Warn the people doing the purchasing of the difficulty in programing one. if they want to sell to Americans, it should be simple English and easy access to American support after the sell.

So far, this has worked flawlessly. I’ve had installed for a couple weeks running an air compressor. I wired in the pressure switch to control on/off and set the output frequency to match my pump RPM as a ratio of the motor rpm and pulley conversion. It’s nice to have a 3 phase motor for the reliability while only having single phase input. Great buy for the application.

Bought this to power a 14x40 lathe and it's been a solid performer. The documentation is ok at best - but there's plenty of great youtube videos to get it sorted out. Since buying this one, I have bought two more slightly lower HP version units that are also performing flawlessly.

First time setup this make of VFD, it is easy to to set up and work great. Will use this make next time.

I finally got to use it and when i plugged it in it popped. what can you do for me.

We were helped throughout the installation process ( we used this item on a mill that was new to us), and they made videos for us. Exceptional service

I am not good in reading the manual on electrical diagrams. . I just want to know how to program to run the 5 h.p. motor on the machine. How to change the speed, forwarding and reversing. Nothing shows in the manual. I managed to hook up the inverter. Nothing shows in the manual.
