We follow her journey from birth to her Farewell tour. From the abuse she suffered under Ike to finding true love. From having scant hits as a rock duo to becoming an international superstar at age 45.No one has lived a life like Tina Turner and Mark Bego shows in detail how little Anna Mae grew up to be one of the bestselling music artists of our time. Through her own mouth and the quotes of others, we learn how she made it through her journey in life. A lot of the early stuff may be familiar from Tina's own book: I, Tina, but Bego fills in what happens after her book ends. Her story and the strength it took to get where she is today are breathtaking, and Bego does a remarkable job at telling it. Definitely worth a read. And maybe her strength can help you on your journey through life.

I love the book, however it is in poor condition, not as advertised. Cover is worn. A few pages folded. The photo section of the pictures are torn & taped to the book with clear tape, very messy. Some of the pages are loose.

Mr. Bego pretty much just rehashes the same story that Miss Tina Turner told previously, in her wonderful autobiography, that was co-written with Kurt Loder, back in 1986. There are a few new little tales, and some other stories that he might have placed more emphasis on, but overall, the same book!! There are also alot of dates that are not correct, and some of the people involved aren't the ones that Tina Turner herself said were involved in some of the stories Mr. Bego has written about. But, I am a true fan of Miss Turner's, so I like to read whatever is out there about her amazing life! Thank you, Arlette

The writing is okay. She's saying she stayed to creatively advance and keep her promise as a musician. Being beaten up by a predator such as Ike and the stalking does not merit keeping a promise. The take away is her evolution. I'm glad Tina is thriving and her choices and life are depicted well. It's your basic people magazine book.

I bought this for my wife. She absolutely devoured this book in less than one day. She got it out of the mail box late in afternoon and was finished by bedtime. She thoroughly enjoyed it. She is a huge fan of Tina Turner and there was stuff in here she didn't know. Which surprised me. She only had positive things to say.

I've heard Tina Turner sing for years but only knew a little about her life. This book was an amazing journey through her early beginning to being a woman of her own first and a star in her own right. Loved it and highly recommend it to everyone but most especially to women who wonder if they will ever get out of the mess they are in. If Tina can do and make a beautiful life for herself, so can we.

I had Tina’s other Books, didn’t have this one , the Book was in Great condition and a Great Price very Pleased 😄

I loved this book. I bought it after watching the movie about Ike and Tina on tv one night as I wanted to read more about Tina's life. It was well worth the money spent. Its the kind of book that's hard to put down once you start reading it and then you feel a sense of sadness when you are done because the fun is over.

When Tina came to Gateshead Stadium, I was part of a charity organisation that provided holidays for health troubled children. On the day of the concert, we had Tina,s permission to travel around the stadium, with buckets. Great bunch that they were, the filled our buckets to capacity, bless them.That evening we felt so honoured, as we were ushered to front of the stage and jigged the night away, as she pounded out hit after hit after hit. Thank yo Miss Tina.Astonishing, stylish and forever beautiful, she is the very epitome of what music should be about, inspirational and timeless ¡
