Great for making your own pour over
I am getting ready for a week long backpacking trip and like my pour over coffee in the morning. For a perfect cup I put 20 grams of coffee in the packet and let my iron get nice and hot and then seal the packet. They are easy to use and my morning coffee is amazing. I have used these on several backpacking trips and will continue to use them.

Great for Camping!
I have done everything from bringing a titanium french press, to instant coffee, teabags of coffee etc when backpacking. I have to say these little bags are fantastic. They weight almost nothing. Take up pretty much zero space in my bag and are easy to use. I went on a 2 day trip this last weekend. Brought 6 bags, 3 cups each day which enough coffee to fill the bags to about 50%. I experimented with these before I went camping with them. I have a burr grinder at home. Initially I just did a course grind because thats what it was set to for my french press I use in the morning. I quickly found out the course grind is NOT the way to go. The course grind allows the water to go right through and not filter through the ground beans slow enough. What this does is give you somewhat weak coffee. Next I did a very fine grind, something you would do for Espresso. This was too fine and trapped the water in the bag. By the time I ended up making the cup, it was WAY to strong and bitter to drink. I ended up finding the sweet spot on my grinder of about 60% set more towards the fine grind. I love these bags and will use them for all my solo trips. I will still probably revert back to my french press when I do my bigger group trips. I would highly recommend!

Individual cups of coffee are awesome!
I wish more people knew about these amazing little filters. Hang them over your cup. Fill them with a few teaspoons of whatever your favorite coffee is, pour the hot water over it, and in less than 5 minutes, you can make yourself the perfect cup of coffee. Everyone can have their favorite blend, their favorite strength, and their favorite brew. Love it! Pro tip: Use the finest grind of coffee you can get. Pour-over does not work well with rough grinds.

great, under proper conditions
It took a long time to find the perfect use for these. These only work for certain size cup rims. Also, they don't hold enough grounds to make coffee strong enough for me. I didn't throw them away, as they work well enough for travel. 3 1/2 years later, my knock-off "Keurig" one cup machine with the reusable filter sometimes needs a finer filter, depending on the grind. I stuck one of these onto a properly-sized mug, sat the mug in the Keurig machine, and this product worked perfectly to do an automatic second filtering.

Wow, better coffee than I expected; smooth and flavorful
Your method for brewing coffee with these filters is very important to what you will get out of them. For this review, here is what I did. I eyeballed my coffee (using my usual coffee scoop) and water measurements as I am not that picky but my guesstimate goal is about 14-15g coffee to about 200g water. Water is just off boil. For this type if brewing method, I go for full immersion. I played with the paper holder things on the bag so that the coffee would sit close to the bottom of the cup but I could still safely remove the bag. I want the coffee to sit in the water, not just drain through. I poured water into the bag carefully, let it drain through and repeated until I felt I had added enough waterโcareful to not let the water level rise above that of the bag. I then let the coffee sit for about a minute before removing the bag. In my experience, just pouring water through an open filter like this bag with the bag on the top of the cup, as it is designed, will result in a weaker brew with little depthโIMO, the water is just not in contact with the coffee long enough. Review: I bought these bags with the idea of using them for travel and backpacking. I have used a cloth filter sold for backpacking in the past and was about to purchase another one for an upcoming family vacation when I stumbled across these paper filter bags. These are going to be lighter and far more convenient for my intended purposes. I have only made two cups so far, one from inexpensive, flavored store branded coffee that my wife likes and one from a quality, freshly roasted whole bean that I ground right before brewing. Both cups were far superior to the same coffee beans in our drip coffee maker (our machine makes acceptable but not great coffee). What really surprised me is that I felt the brew using the freshly ground beans was better than what I previously achieved with these same beans using my Aeropress. I do not usually use the flavored coffee in the press so cannot compare those. These bags are less fuss then the Aeropress and with results this good, I may just start using these at home as well as travel and backpacking. My bags came vacuumed sealed, a nice touch.

Perfect Coffee Filters for On-the-Go Brewing
I love these Coffee Filter Paper Bag! Theyโve made my morning coffee routine so much easier, especially when Iโm at work or traveling. I just add my Lifeboost Blueberry Mocha Coffee grounds into the filter, pour boiling water over it, and then toss the filter in the trash when Iโm done. I have no mess and no extra cleanup. The filters are very durable and do exactly what theyโre supposed to do. Super convenient.
