Singapore Primary Mathematics Level 1 Kit (US Edition), Workbooks 1A and 1B, and Textbooks 1A and 1B by Singapore Math; U.S. Edition edition (2003) (2003) Paperback : desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Very good graphics and instructions Easy to follow for my adult daughter who is learning delayed Review: I bough these math text books for my 4 years old son during pandemic. It is the important time for him to start math learning and here we are in the year 2020. I was educated in Asia before college and we know how important it is to have good math basis. The addition and subtraction are mainly done by mind calculation not on the calculator no matter how big the number is. This text book or math teaching system is well designed for English speakers. At the beginning, I like it start from counting numbers and connecting them from symbols to letters. The work book makes exercises fun, my son can concentrate on the book for almost one hour. Overall, it’s a good math learning system.

I'm using both Saxon and Primary Mathematics for my first grader. We are reviewing both curriculums to see which one will suit our family the best. Both are great programs but my daughter seems to enjoy Primary Math the best. A piece of advice if you plan to use Primary Math is to make sure you purchase the teachers manuals. They are in depth and give the parent a guide to follow.

This program does a great job of introducing new concepts. I was a bit worried about my 5-year-old learning multiplication and division (they are just introduced in 1Aand 1B) since she becomes frustrated easily, but she picked up the concepts well with the simple method of teaching. This program was just the right length for our Sept-June homeschool year, too. Love it. She did well with 1A and 1B in Kindergarten and we have purchased 2A and 2B for 1st grade.

I purchased these for my daughter while we were home during COVID-19 so she could practice her math. She is quite young, so I had only intended for her to use the 1A book, and save 1B for later...but she was so engrossed by these workbooks that she has now completed both 1A and 1B, mostly on her own. I was pleasantly surprised. I compare this to the Kumon workbooks, which don't hold her interest at all. Kumon has no illustrations or explanations and is mostly intended for rote memorization. By contrast, the Singapore workbooks really emphasize process. I did dock one star because I think that these are prohibitively expensive.
