Review: Nice product - I have broken two blades so far but can’t say it wasn’t my fault there’s a bunch grey areas in scroll sawing…some things just have to be spot on….practice, practice, practice.
Review: Olson Saw SP46300 Spiral Scroll Saw Blade ... - I used these spiral blades on hard wood. They were aggressive in cutting the hard wood that I was using but they never broke. I made some name plates for some of my family and they came out beautiful. I did have to sand them because of the rough cut ( saw dust). I was able to guide the spiral blades fairly easily and that made my project a lot easier and more rewarding. This was the first time I used spiral blades for some of my projects. I do like them but they do kick up saw dust and they leave rough edges. You will have to sand your work piece. These blades are great for working on projects that have letters or numbers.

**Q: what is the length of these blades?**
A: They are 5 inches long.  Not 8 1/2 inches.  That is the size of the shipping package.

**Q: Does anyone make a pin end spiral cut 5 inches long?**
A: Spiral blades are all plain end

**Q: What is the max thickness I can cut with this blades? I have never used them before.**
A: I have used it quite often in upto 1/2" thickness of soft wood. They're good blades & don't dull easily provided you wax them intermittently.

**Q: Will this blade work on a makita scroll saw sj401? what would it take or need for it to work on the makita? can this blade cut through stainless steel**
A: It should work on any scroll saw that takes a plain end blade. I have not tried it with metal but I have my doubts that it would cut steel.

The blades seem fine, but probably only useful for very delicate projects like 1/8" wood panels. Unfortunately, these did not work for my WEN scroll saw, as the allen-screw clamps just didn't hold this blade tightly enough to tension the arm without these popping loose from one side or the other instantly. Not really the blades' fault, but since I didn't get a chance to actually use them, I can't give a fair rating for their function. Just a warning that you need to be sure your scroll saw can hold a pinless blade securely in order to make use of these!
