Funny easy read that actually keeps kids interested
This book worked really well for my child. The print is clear and the chapters are short, so it is not overwhelming for kids who are still getting comfortable with reading on their own. The pages turn quickly because the story feels real and the situations are exactly what kids deal with in school. My child laughed and stayed engaged the whole time which is rare for books at this level. The pacing is fast and the chapters have just enough action to keep them moving without losing focus. 📚 3rd grader read this book for reading counts points.
The book was okay bought for my 8 year old son, he needed a break from the I survived series with something light hearted and fun, it took some time for him to start enjoying the book. I thought the story and language had an odd flow, the dialogue was strange and confusing at times. I think it had an interesting idea but just didn’t work. I also didn’t like how it used improper grammar and language in the set up of dialogue, I get that it’s trying to sound like kids are talking to each other, it bugged me. It had a good lesson, to be yourself and not care what others think of you, so I might be delving too deep into my criticism but I’ve read a lot of crap with my son and I felt I needed to express this.

Because it is really funny and joyful. I think people that like funny books will like this one.

My students are OBSESSED with this series. A little too much "romance" for elementary, but a must read for fourth grade!
