HERCULINER Roll-On Truck Bed Liner, 1 Gallon Can, Black, Textured, Suitable for All Truck Beds, 55-60 sq ft Coverage

Definite need to follow manufacturer recommendations! Surely a twirly drill apparatus is required; I tempted fate as I attempted to stir with a paint stick and soon realized the rubber material was thickened to the bottom, so once the twirly was activated all that rubber became free floating. Surely also NEED to stir (with a paint stick is well) frequently. Cannot "paint on!" Folks like me who are avid counter/table epoxy experienced, we surely know about brush dabbing. Dab. Not stroke. I used a small (2 1/2"?) roller from a local hardware store and it worked perfect; one roller per application. I used much less painter's tape than expected as the roller sets a clean line. One gallon gave me 2 full coats (front, sides, base, and tailgate) plus enough the next morning to pour the remaining pint or two onto the middle of the bed and roll most of the base and tailgate a third time. I waited for very low 80's F and low humidity and used a pop-up tent to keep sun and heat and debris off the bed. The fumes become moderate and noticeable even being outside so I cannot image how the fumes will be if done in a small garage - so, not recommended. The sanding preparation took me most of one day as there are a ton of grooves, but time well spent; just jam to some tunes and enjoy the process the best can be. I found that my orbital sander with 120grit worked too well as the slightest too much is really too much as manufacturer prime and paint are really, really thin. If I were to use the sander again, I would use a higher # grit (which means FINER texture folks! as too many of us out there are backwards with rough #s). After the Acetone wipedown, the bed was really ready for the coats which actually took very little time in comparison to the preparation. As mi pappy always used to say, "any project, it's about the preparation, preparation, AND preparation." I applied the final layer this morning, so I really have no idea about longevity. I will keep it under cover for a couple more days and be patient for that final cure. To boot, the barrel scrapings are now on a small patch on my driveway as I am experimenting with that surface. It is now more than a week later, and I have acquired the update that the manufacturer no longer makes its UV topcoat, so upon further "research," I purchased a matte clear coat 2k for UV protection, so 4 pads annihilated red pad scuff, vacuum/air blow, diluted isopropyl wash, and total 4 cans 2k in 3 layers, of course NEED to use approved vapor multi-layer breathing mask. That mask is a NEED! Nobody ought to consider using 2k without fully understanding every aspect of those elements! That truck bed is now best!!

This was a lot more work than i first thought it would be, but it was all worth it in the end. The liner makes the bed look sharp and covered the paint damage left by the old plastic liner. After running out of material on my second coat there were still some spots where I could see the red paint below the liner coating. I was doing a 5' bed on a small truck (Chevy Colorado 2005). manufacturer says 1 gallon does a 6 ft normal bed. I would suggest getting more material than recommended if you want to make sure the pain color is completely hidden by the liner coating. Still, I'm absolutely happy with the end result. It's just the OCD within me that wants every speck of red covered. So far, it's holding up good. a bit did rub off the tailgate because I had a ladder wedged in there pretty tight, but overall, it seems quite durable. Another benefit is that toolboxes and such tend to stay where you put them in the bed. the liner helps things stay in place. Nice when driving but can be frustrating when trying to pull things out. Beware when masking off areas for the painting. the rollers love to throw the material. I started with minimal masking thinking this would be enough. the paint flips everywhere as you roll, so I had to add a lot more paper and tape to make sure the liner only ended up where I wanted it. Other than that, I followed the instructions provided and the project turned out great.

Product went on very easy worked great 1 gallon is plenty for a pick up utility truck two coats. Just make sure you prep it real good sand everything down and brush and go over the entire area with paint thinner before you paint it so it sticks real well.

One gallon will not do a full size truck. Maybe, it might do a Ranger, maybe. Lucky I ordered 2 gallons thinking I would have enough left over for another project. Nope two full gallons for a F250. Other than that it seems like a good product.

Great stuff. I used it to cover the bottom of my leaking fiberglass canoe. No more leaks! It held up well. Highly recommended.

Having used this product in the past, I can tell you with certainty it is not the same formula as it once was. The consistency is that of water or thinner if that’s even possible, and the amount of shredded rubber, or whatever the material is, is severely lacking. The prior product I used went on thick with one coat coverage this particular gallon was so thin it runs off the vertical surfaces and puddles at the bottom. From what I am noticing at this point, it’s going to take 2 gallons to get the same coverage and effect 1 gallon of the older product provided. Not that it matters to the manufacturer of the seller, but I am quite dissatisfied. I hope this review helps somebody looking to purchase this product make an informed decision.

Great product. This was very easy to install. I have a long bed and one gallon did my truck just fine. I bought a second due to other reviews but never ended up needing it.

bedliner worked great they send roller and brusk which was nice one gallon did two coats on my standard box happy so far

Great Product. Bediner is very easy to install. Prep work takes more time. I would recommend this product for sure.

Seemed to take product a long time to cure 4 days b4 it seem to lose its soft textured. I’m Loki g forward to see if it is robust when loading my atv trailer with cut wood.

for best results apply POR-15 ( Paint Over Rust formula 15) on the rusted areas before applying the heculiner, 1 winter and holding strong - no rust yet.
