This audio controller works great. This is the "Real Mckoy."
Update my first review below. I had a hum to develop in my audio so I changed the power supply and it corrected the issue. I still love this audio limiter. Operates perfectly without fail. As stated....Its the "Real Mckoy" that does just what it advertises to do. Seller should change their ad that kind of points as it's just for karaoke. I use it to limit my scanner from blasting out at me. Should be advertised as a limiter for any audio. Enjoy!! I sure do. ***************************************************** (Original first review) Fantastic unit. I have a scanner that put out all kinds of different levels of sound. It was irritating to say the least to listen to our local police hence the audio level of each unit was so different. I would have it set at a nominal level for most units but the dispatcher and a handful of mobile units would almost bust the speaker (and my ears). I ordered this LEMONKTV audio controller and just like that my scanner was putting out level audio. The low volume units were raised up to hear better and the ear popping louder units were brought down to a level even with the other units. This is an answer to my prayers. What a great feeling that I don't have to cringe at the unlevel blasting of ear piercing audio levels.

Virtually useless. Overpriced
Ads are really loud on TV, and dialog can hardly be heard due to the way streaming services ignore home audiences and just provide theater 5.1 sound. This was SUPPOSED to be and ADVERTISED as a volume automatic controller leveler, to solve this problem. (these are known as compressors, or limiters in audio engineering) This. Does. Nothing. I'm an audio engineer and I'm sad that there are so many complaints about this and so few of these simple devices available on Amazon. The only other one has been discontinued. Save your $50 bucks.

Works for the most part
Used on a new TV that had no commercial volume control. This helped quite a bit but once in awhile affects tone quality for a short period of time. Not perfect, but I couldn't find anything better when researching. I hooked it from TV audio out (Headphone port) to speaker amplifier then to speakers. Not perfect but improved and satisfied. I doubt you'll find anything perfect. Hard to believe we even need an item like this in today's tech world. I assumed TV had volume control as standard equipment when purchasing, never gave it a thought.

Not what I expected
We watch a t.v. station that has exceedingly loud commercials. I installed the unit between the t.v. audio output and a stereo amplifier.I was expecting it to even out the volume but was disappointed. It helped a little but still louder than the programming.

Ear saver!
Solve my wife problem and all is good. We put this in line with our TV audio out and our sound bar. Before we had wild swings in audio volume not just within a show but with commercials etc. This box a dream. Now one volume setting works for all conditions. No more cranking up the soft voice just to be blasted by the next scene or commercial. All TV's should have this function built in. Will recommend this to everyone I know

Feels like it's working great. -Updated, no it's not.
I picked this up since my new HTPC does not support W10 audio enhancements for reasons and my TV auto leveling is not good at all. So far this seems to work well. It reacts pretty quickly to loud noises and doesn't hold the volume to low for too long. Sound quality feels good, don't hear any distortion or hum. I use it for the following; YouTube (Mostly talking) Twitch TV Shows Netflix Consoles (Switch was always way too quiet) Update On podcast like audio, the left channel gets louder than the right channel. Very annoying, loses three stars to this. I ended up taking it out of my setup. Might send it back.

Not suitable between TV and home stereo or sound bar
This might work in a situation where there was constant music running from the source, though that didn't work for me either. My use case: I was looking for something that would keep the TV volume at a constant, even level between streaming channels, cable TV, and services like YouTube. We have a Roku TV, which is plugged into our homes stereo, and watch clips from our various content subscriptions on YouTube while waking up with our coffee in the mornings before work. We then binge watch a lot of TV shows from any of several streaming services in the evenings after work. Unfortunately, there is quite a disparity between the two - and even between streaming services, shows, or individual clips. This makes the volume up and down buttons a constantly abused section of my remote most days, as I'm sure you can imagine. Unfortunately, this unit simply swelled the volume up and down constantly, as if it couldn't find its own level on the hysteresis and at a constant rate, even with an even signal that didn't fluctuate much, like a music video. Simple dialogue, even with normal background music, was just untenable. I am not sure this unit would work under any circumstances, to be honest, and I'm returning it for a full refund. Don't waste your money.

Amazing tool
This is perfect if you are running an AM/FM radio station in your neighborhood and don't want DJs recking your sound. I recommend this product.
