I'm surprised how comfortable these boots are
I've had these boots for maybe a week, and I'm impressed. Normally I'd wait to write a review to see how they do in the long haul, I'll just have to update this later for that. Anyway, I'm surprised how comfortable these boots are. Normally my feet are begging to be released from whatever shoes contain them long before the work day ends. With these, I can easily go a full day and have no complaints. Which given the lack of obvious venting, wasn't what I expected. The waterproofing seems good so far. So as long as the soles and the waterproofing hold up, I'll be getting these again... hopefully a long time from now.Time for an update. I've been wearing these at least 10hrs a day, 5 days a week for the last 4 months, paired with PS wool socks.ย 921-4PKQTR-GREEN Large Quarter Mens Womens Unisex Socks . The sole seems to be wearing well, with the only obvious sign of significant wear at the back (where they get the most friction). I spend a lot of the day walking on a mix of concrete, asphalt, and packed dirt and gravel. With the current wear, it looks like I'll get several more months out of them. The waterproofing is holding up as well too. Just recently I walked thru a small stream and had about half the boot submerged, then got about the same amount of coverage with mud exiting the other side. The inside of the boot stayed nice and dry (excluding a bit of sweat). Now, my feet have always run hot and still sweat, but they stay comfortable. Wearing these thru the heat of the summer, I noticed no noticeable change in comfort on hotter days. In fact, the comfort level seems to be pretty much the same as it was 4 months ago. I enjoy wearing these so much, when Danner had their Fathers Day sale, I picked up a black pair to have on hand when these finally die. I'll update this again once these get closer to the end of their life.Update #2: I've had these for about a year and a half now, and they're still holding up strong. Back in December, I started alternating between the two pairs. I have been surprised the tread has held up as well. The boots show signs of use: scuffs on the toe box, a tear in the foam around the ankle, but there are no signs of delamination or stitching blowing out. All the eyelets are solid, and I'm still using the original laces. Most likely I'll be able to get several more months from my original pair.

Great boots
I wear these every day for every reason. Work on the farm, casual outings, shooting range, they're very comfortable and very versatile. I wear a size 14 and these still look great!!

Very Nice Light Work Boot, Updated
Just got these and I am very impressed with the quality in materials and workmanship. I originally purchased Tmberland Pro Euro Hikers and while those were the most comfortable boot I've ever worn after a week they started to come apart at the seams as seen in the pics in their reviews section. I find that a "Hiker" style work boot is a good balance of waterproof, durability, and light weight that I Iook for in a work boot for light outdoor work like the maintaining and repairing of swimming pools and spas that I do. I will say that these Danners are very light compared to past boots I've purchased but don't have the super soft foot bed that some sport. The Goretex lining and leather upper keep your feet dry but they don't feel too hot in temps well over 100F. I have some foot pain now and again and may upgrade the insoles if needed. If they keep my feet dry for at least 2 winters I'll be extremely happy. For years I bought Hi-Tec leather hiking boots for about 60/pair and they would get me through one winter and into the next before the waterproofing failed but now they don't last a month so I've been hunting for a replacement.Update: Still holding up, no need for insole. I wipe them down with a wet rag once a week or so and they still look great.Update 2: 6mo of daily wear later, in wet conditions regularly, and my feet are still dry, I haven't had any foot pain issues since I started wearing these and depsite a lack of padding i haven't upgraded the insole. The seams are still tight and there is no sign of them coming apart. I have become a fan of Goretex as the lining hasnt failed to keep my feet dry and warm to date. At times my feet will feel slighlty warm but they dont sweat.I highly recommend this boot for light outdoor work wear waterproofing is needed.

Almost a perfect boot
I decided to wear these boots for a full year before reviewing them, and I'm glad I did. I am a land surveyor and I've had these boots on my feet for 45-55 hours per week ever since I got them. I've worn them through many different terrains ranging from asphalt to mountains and everything in between, including snow. What makes them almost perfect is that they have held up extremely well and really don't show a year's worth of wear. They have been very comfortable since day one, which is a huge plus for me, and are relatively light weight. The sole is still in good shape with plenty of tread left. Nothing has broken, cracked or come unstitched. Now for the bad part. When the boots were about 7-8 months old, both boots started to leak dirt (and water) from the toe where the rubber meets the leather. My Dad also bought these boots for work and his did the same thing at around the same time frame. This is a pretty big disappointment because if it weren't for this problem, I could honestly say that I would not buy another boot. If Danner could fix this problem, they would have a home run with this boot. I don't think they would even have any competition until you reached the $250-$300 range.
