Bought a bunch of these to use as props for a school musical. Several of them shorted out and would heat up at the base where the battery goes in. The first time it happened, we didn’t realize right away and the AA batteries literally exploded. I have been around a long time, and I’ve never seen AA batteries pop like that!! Anyway we were stuck with them for our show, and luckily had a bunch extra, because we needed them. Kinda’ became a joke of the cast after a while. “We have another exploding candle” and they were pretending to throw them like grenades. I don’t think that’s what the manufacturer is going for.

This was a good value, however, when it was time to take the 'floating' candles down (they had been turned on for approx. 4 hours), a few of the candles felt very hot. When I removed the batteries from a couple of them, I couldn't even touch the batteries.....they were that hot. They did serve the purpose, but if we use them again, I will keep a close eye on them.

These flicker way TOO much. Like how lights do when a ghost is about to show up in the show, “Supernatural”. So unnatural. Very annoying. Will be returning.

When I received the candles I put batteries in 2 of them. They would not light with the end cap fully screwed on and after about 10 minutes,, the candles were so hot I could barely touch them and they smelled like burning electrical. These candles are being returned.

Used at for a memorial service, rock concert and Harry Potter themed celebration and we are very impressed with the outcome.
