I've used these rods for years, nver have had an issue. Finally needed this model and from what ive seen, they are being discontinued. Quality, good price and will last if properly used and taken care of.

I don’t understand the remarks about this rod breaking. It cleans shotguns better than any 3-section rod I have, perhaps because the swabs and brushes can so freely turn. The only thing I didn’t take into consideration is how unwieldy and heavier (than an aluminum rod) this carbon rod can be. Some of my shotguns have 32” barrels and holding two barrels in one hand and this long rod in the other can make starting the brush or swab in the barrel a bit difficult. With the gun broken open in a gun vise to clean it, that problem would be alleviated.

I have a similar rubber-coated steel rod that I have used for years. Over time, however, errant insertions into the bore have chipped pieces of the rubber off exposing the steel rod beneath. Since this entire rod is made from carbon fiber, it will never have the same issue and will remain intact forever. The smooth handle rotation provided by the bearings is unbelievable. This is a top-notch product that is worth every penny of the purchase price, as I am certain it will last forever.
