Guinea Pig Food Pellets, 5 Lb.

This arrived today and I promptly filled my piggies' bowl to the top. I didn't realize when I ordered it that it it fortified with vitamins--even vitamin C! It is a good quality and the piggies like it. I was worried they would somehow taste the difference because of the fortification, but even if they did, they still liked it. I will definitely be buying this again! UPDATE: I have been feeding this to my pigs for the last couple of years and they continue to love this. A 25 pound bag lasts me an average of three months for my three pigs. I ran out of this, so I had to buy a different pellet and they refused to eat the other brand. When we received our new order, this is what I noticed between Small Pet Select pellets and the other store brand: #1) The Small Pet Select pellets were a brighter green. I personally don't know if this makes a difference for overall health, but I can tell you that as a human, I prefer the bright green veggies as opposed to the pale green ones of the same variety. #2) The Small Pet Select pellets smelled fresher and sweeter, like a sweet grass. I really liked the fresh smell as opposed to smelling like it had been sitting on a shelf for months. #3) The dogs love it. I don't recommend feeding this to your dogs, but don't be surprised if they are a little opportunistic and start munching on it if you aren't looking. We have to keep it locked away from the dogs.

This product is expensive however it smells very fresh it stayed fresh for 2 months it the box they provided the main thing I'd my 6 piggies loved it so I will definitely buy it again in fact a 10lbd box is on its waywas oh no filler at all in thod Update I noticed you buy less 40lbs you don't get get just hay based pellets it has better ingredients then most just please look at the ingredients make sure they meet your piggies needs

I rescued my little guinea pig from a home that wasn't taking very good care of him or giving him good food. I tried to give him better food so he would't end up sick or anything and he just wouldn't eat it. Well, from the prior home feeding him bad food he ended up with a bladder stone. He had surgery and when he came home he wouldn't anything at all. I got him several different kinds of food hoping he would eat and when I got this food, the Small Pet Select, he took one whiff and started eating immediately! He ate almost the entire bowl in one sitting and he kept eating after that. This food is a little expensive but they love it, and if you love your little guy you will buy them this. He eats a full bowl every night and the vet said this is the best food you ever get your guinea pig and it's what she feeds hers as well. I'm no longer worried about any health issues now that we've switched to Small Pet Select! I will never stray from this brand and it's the only brand I will feed my guys from now on.

I was a strictly only KMSHayloft pellets until they went out of business. They provided the lowest calcium pellets available. Sherwood was next in line with the lowest calcium levels. Their pellets however are not consisted. Some bags my girls would eat and others not. I already purchase small pet select hay, and these are close to Sherwood calcium wise. On a great note, my piggies LOVE them! Quality is consistent as well. This time the pellets came in a box vs a bag. Not sure they are as fresh as they are in the vacuum sealed bag, but they don’t last long enough to go stale with 4 piggies.

We've fed Small Pet Select Guinea Pig Pellets for over 5 years now, and I've always been extremely pleased with them. I occasionally run out and have to resort to using a popular recommended brand that can be easily purchased at the store, but my pigs definitely show their disapproval at this! The pellets are always fresh, smell great, and are pellets only. I've had a few bad experiences with other brands where I've found weird items such as rocks, sticks, and even plastic chunks in my pigs food. It's a bit disturbing as I demand only the best for my pigs and they deserve it. I've never had this issue with Small Pet Select, and this is why I am a repeat customer, and will be for as long as we have cavys.

First off, it smelled soooo good. You could just tell right off the bat that this was so fresh and high quality by just smelling it and looking at it. My guinea pigs really liked this. The ingredients are definitely the best thing about this. This food is about as close as you are getting to what they would eat in the wild and I love the thought of that. I’ll admit I’m a little disappointed for how long this lasted but I still love it.😌

I received the package but somehow i broke the freshness zip so I have to put a clip on to keep the freshness. Overall I think my guinea pig likes it. Last month I had taken my guinea pig to the vet for tooth infection. He had grown a big chin with abscess. The vet told me that guinea pig needs supplement vitamin C because they cannot generate it by themselves. Also guinea pig supplement should only be pallets. Remove anything that looks like seeds. I am hoping this food will keep him healthy and I do not have to pay for the vet visit again! So far I have the bag for 3 weeks. He likes it and back to the old himself! Very active and very strong.

As you can see in the picture small pet select is on the right. Looks fresh and a higher quality. My daughters Guinea pigs , know the difference. I made the mistake and did not order small pet select hay and pellets. To my surprise the pigs did not eat anything else but the small pet select. Thank you for making a quality pet food at a reasonable price. Better food equals less eating and less pooping!!! It pays for its self in the long run! You can see it in the health of the pig and the excitement they get when it’s feeding time!! Highly recommended!

We get our guinea pig and chinchilla pellets from Small Pet Select. They are so fresh and quality is high. When we have rescues, once they’ve had this brand of food for a few days there is a noticeable change in their poop. It’s ideal excrement from a healthy small mammal. Prior, it would be dry and almost crumbly. The pellets make a difference in their appearance quality of health.

I was scared at first buying these because I thought it would be a little packet but no! A decent size for piggies I have 3 guinea pigs and this will last them for a couple of months! And the pellets smell fresh and well made! Would definitely buy from them again!
