Gilboys 'Pure Gold' Premium Beeswax Furniture Polish (125ml)

This is definitely a superior product. I have been refinishing furniture for decades and I’ve used the French polishing method of steel wool and wax many times with good results, but hated the smell of other paste waxes. Gilboy’s not only does a beautiful job waxing the finish ((my mother’s old bureau now looks like a preserved antique), but is almost odorless. It was pricey, but definitely worth it. I’m going to be giving all my wood furniture a polishing with it!

Gilboy's was recommended to us where we purchased our furniture. The quality is amazing and so far last a long time. The label says you may wax once a year, that is great and the finish on our furniture really stands out after applying.

I have this 19th Century hall bench that was in need of some tender loving care. After hours of research, I learned that beeswax was the best way to preserve this bench. I came across Gilboys' videos and watched them all to educate myself on restoring this antique piece. The wood was very dry and worn. Gilboys beeswax brought back the color and shine to the piece. It is smooth to the touch and the wood is now well preserved to last for many more generations. Highly recommend! Thank you Gilboys!

Excellent results

I just completed refinishing my 100+ year old walnut dining room table, then applied multiple layers of Gilboys clear bees wax. I think it's the most beautiful wood finish I've ever seen, anywhere, on any piece of furniture! It has a deep rich luster, smooth and velvety to touch, yet doesn't hide the grain. My wife and I have had the dining set for 42 years, and I first refinished the whole set about 30 years ago using a tung oil-polyurethane blend. It held up very well and looked good, or so I thought. I was happy with it until I recently accidentally ruined the finish. I ended up sanding the table top down to bare wood, then applied 7 coats of pure tung oil, spaced 6-7 days apart. It had the typical matt finish of pure tung oil. While researching finish techniques (I'm an rank amateur) I came across someone on YouTube who spoke highly of Gilboys wax, so I ordered it. I'm amazed at the transformation. Every coat I apply looks better! In the attached photos, the left side has 4 hand rubbed coats, and the right side has 3 so far. At some point I guess I need to stop!

If you have dull commercial shellac it will brighten it. Putting it over natural shellac it actually made it more dull. I did follow the instructions and I am disappointed especially with how much it costs.

Never had such good results with wax! It is outstanding! Fabulous hard coat on neglected antique furniture, giving a depth of finish which is spectacular. it is so good that it is almost addictive!! Don't worry about the small quantity; it is more than sufficient and refills are cheaper Use 0000 steel wool to apply and butter muslin to polish: nothing special needed! This really is outstanding and worthy of the manufacturer's eulogy!

Picked a tv stand that I love for it's design, not as happy with it's finish so ordered Gilboys clear wax to put a nicer finish on it. Drawers had no finish at all, pics shows just the fronts waxed and buffed compared to the unfinished internals to give and idea of the small bit of darkening on a light timber. Very easy to apply and buff. What I love about a waxed finish is the feel of softness you get compared to a varnished or laquered finish. It is expensive but goes a very long way. Will order again when I need more
