Great accessory for dirt and clay... will tackle tree roots too.
I bought this attachment to be used with the Bauer 11 Amp 1-9/16 In. SDS Max-Type Pro Variable Speed Rotary Hammer from Harbor Freight while digging back a slope in our yard to build a retaining wall. This may be the best accessory I have purchased to be used with a demolition hammer. It powers well through dirt and clay, it does struggle in wet/damp mulch areas but this would probably apply to all clay spades. After cutting 180' linear feet across our lot at a depth of 12-18 inches the bit has very few imperfections. Was able to cut through hidden bricks and tree roots upto 1 - 1.25" in diameter. Larger tree roots did require a reciprocating saw. Given the terrain and what I encountered below ground i was expected the leading edge of the clay spade to be more damaged but Bosch has done a great job with this bit. Would recommend for everyone to have on hand. I've read people having success using a similar setup to quickly dig holes to plant new trees, shrubs and excavate for post holes. I'm a very happy buyer.

Impressive
I used this with a Berkstock sp? 1-9/16" SDS-Max demolition hammer to remove a 4-5" diameter magnolia tree, rootball and all. This spade shovel made quick work of the job, freeing the entire rootball in under 5 min. The rootball was to large and heavy for me to pull it out of the ground alone. The spade shovel & demo hammer made the job easy here in the Las Vegas area where our ground is like moon rock. I did sharpen the edge of the spade before going to work and that likely helped with cutting through the roots. At $53, I think priced a bit high ($35 would have been reasonable IMO). And the only improvement I would have welcomed is to make the shank longer by 12". Otherwise, the spade did it's job and showed no noticeable wear after one use.

It worked for my application
I used this bit in a power hammer to dig a trench around the inside of my hose footer. All clay and rock digging. It held up fine, and made the job way easier than digging by hand.

Works well with my roto-hammer drill.
I have clay soil with lots of rocks. Trying to dig with a regular shovel is near impossible. When I attached this to my roto-hammer drill, I was able to dig multiple holes for planting fruit trees. I also used it to dig a sump pit for a French drain. It works well in the conditions and it hasn't worn down yet. I've been using it for 6 months and it shows no wear.

What can you not dig with this super shovel?
I have used this for digging trenches, preparing to install retaining walls etc. This has been a life saver in my clay soil. A wonderful tool in my large cordless Dewalt hammer drill (in hammer mode obviously).

Awesome tool for hard clay.
Got it today and it fit perfectly in my bosch hammer drill. I read the reviews prior to buying and was kinda skeptical since some complained about it not working. They were wrong, this spade was awesome today. I dug 7 large holes for trees in hard clay. It typically takes me 30 minutes to dig a decent size hole but today it took less than 10 minutes per hole. You still need a shovel as the spade is only used to break apart the hard clay, but that was expected. Whoever said the item broke is either lying or just crazy. I hit many rocks and I there’s not even a crack or chip. I’m just making this review since I saw so many negative ones and wanted to assure buyers that were on the fence like I was.

Very Hardened steel
I use this to dig a 30 inch trench 15 foot long for underground piping and it was all rock. I never changed the bit because you can use it as a chisel can use it to pry and dig. It’s still like new Well worth the money don’t even consider other brands.
