I love these. I use them to remove old bark and underlying bard residue for wood items I make. They are not too hard and not too soft, just the right material and flexibility I need to get into rounded/offset edges.

Started restoration project of our 57 yr old wrought iron railing using paint stripper and what a MESS. I'm not experienced at this stuff, which may be why the liquid paint stripper idea for at least 3 layers of paint wasn't a good one; but, when we found these, originally in Lowes (for more money), gave it try and while they do wear down, they take the paint and rust w/them. It can get costly because they wear down within an hours use; but, w/planning we were able to reach alot of the scroll work as the size of the wheel diminished. Much less messy than the liquid and addresses the surface rust that liquid can't.

Works great. However if you have glass tiles like I do, this tool scratches the glass horribly. I knew this, but didn't care. The pool looks so much better with the calcium removed.

They work but seemed overly priced this price gouging is gonna end soon right?

What can I say except that it does exactly what 3M claims it does. I'm using it as a make-do bench grinder using an old heavy-duty Black and Decker drill clamped in a vise, and I've only used it to remove rust from some old spring clamps, but it worked like a champ. My impression is that it's quite durable and should last a good while, especially if you don't jam the edge of a workpiece up against it and are otherwise careful about the direction of rotation. A bonus for me is that it's only 5/8: thick, which makes it easy to get into narrow spaces that a bench grinder can't, and you can approach it from almost any angle for even more versatility.

This thing rocks! I just pop it into my 12V cordless drill and away we go! I have stripped a baby crib and a wooden cut out wall sculpture. Each time, it took off paint like a pencil eraser on notebook. I wish I had more things to strip because this still has so much life left in it.
