Q: Can't get official 7" display to fit. If the board is oriented the correct way to get the cables to reach through, then the case blocks the board?

Are you using the gold screws to secure the display control board as shown in step 1? Can you make sure the display is going into the case the correct orientation? See step 2. If you are still having issues please contact us directly and we can troubleshoot.

Q: What size screws are needed to mount the base into a surface? I wish it came with some. It has the hold for it...

The holes in the base are 3.2 mm in diameter. But you could drill then out to 7 mm in diameter if needed. You can also use the included small mounts to mount the case to a surface. They would use are a 45 degree countersink screw with max diameter of 4 mm.
