I bought this because our air conditioner was always running and I figures I could find areas of the house that might be leaking the cool air. I quickly fell into a rabbit hole of fixes. It's very good at identifying areas that are not insulated in the ceiling. It also allowed me to identify a massive leak from my 2 air handlers, which were basically cooling my attic and crawl space. Other areas I found were leaks around every register in my house (leaking into the attic) and the weather stripping around 3 external doors. I replace weather stripping (easy), sealing and insulated air handler (fairly easy) and spray foam sealed all my registers (hard due to number and hiking around the attic.) Only mistake I made was falling thru my office ceiling as I was finishing, which extended this effort a couple of weeks in repairs and painting. I look forward to winter and seeing where else I might be bleeding energy.Take your time to get used to using this. there are a lot of settings for different situations. Once I got it dialed in, it was very easy to use.

Incredible value for money. Seems to work just as well (sensitivity, display) as a much more expensive FLIR camera that I have. Resolution is as advertised and plenty good enough to know what you are looking at. I bought it when I was going to inspect a classic car, and my FLIR was elsewhere. Was delivered quickly. It was easy to see which cylinders were misfiring, their spark plugs were much cooler than the others. Also easy to check coolant temperature and circulation.I have not checked for accuracy, but it certainly gives plausible numbers, no reason to suspect a problem.

This is an excellent thermal imager. I work on low voltage electronics and wanted to see if this imager would help find failing and damaged components, but also to use around my house for energy efficiency. It works great. The interface is very simple, maybe too simple as you often use the same buttons for multiple functions, but for the price this product cannot be beat. Very easy to use.

I bought this to find HVAC ducts that are not heating properly. It makes a difficult task super easy. On a hot or cold day you can easily see insulation and stud detail. In fact you can see where your fingerprints briefly touched the wall for several seconds. I viewed my old fuse box and found 2 hot circuits that were overloaded. The only downside is it does not hold a charge very well between uses.

I purchased this to hopefully assess my new ceiling for possible leaks after recent storms. The instructions on how to use the device were clear, but to be completely honest, I didn't really know what I was looking for at first. It does have a laser on it so you can pinpoint exactly what area you're looking at and the different colors reveal different temperatures. There is a legend off to the side of the screen to correlate to the different temperatures. I was able to clearly see the difference between my ceiling light versus other parts of my ceiling, but I quickly realized after a few minutes that I didn't quite know how to correctly locate a leak (long story short, I didn't have one).I think this is a great tool in the right hands. I believe that there is also a slot for some sort of memory card, but I did not use it myself.

I really want to have a product like this to see what’s going on like water pipeline inside wall when I do some handy works at home myself. I paid attention on this product because of its price and brand at first. The product is with high quality package when I received. So far, I’ve used it more than two weeks. I will say I love it much. The product is easy to use with easily-understanding user interface. And after fully battery charged, I can use it several hours without any overheat issues. And to talk about its accuracy temperature detection rate and detection range, I’ve tested it under different circumstances. I am totally satisfied. Overall, highly recommended!

I was a little skeptical at first comparing this to other models. Very impressed with the performance of it! I can easily see air ducts through my walls when the ac is on. I wish it came with a zippered hard shell case, but the box that it came in has custom foam cut outs to keep it protected, so I am happy enough. I definitely don’t see a reason to spend twice as much for a Flir.

Has only been used 3-5 times, kept in case and is still like new. Completely stopped working. For the amount of money paid, I am very highly dissapointed in this product.
