Firstly, like the other reviewer has stated, this is not an accurate historical model and more closely resembles Deinonychus. Velociraptors were only turkey sized although I still wouldn't pick a fight with more than one of them.Do I really care? not one jot. Based on the Raptors from Jurassic Park, the model is beautifully detailed and dynamically posed. The painting of the model I received left a little to be desired and did not look at all like the photo: poorly patterned with simplistic brush strokes.Initially I was a little annoyed but thought about painting it myself, looked around on the internet and saw that good results were possible with acrylic paints, in fact, some of the repainted models floating around cyber space are simply stunning.So I dusted off my box of artists paints and within a few hours, had a pretty satisfactory result. Lots of dry brush work highlights the darker shades that you lay down and because of the quality of sculpt; the details really start to shine through. My colour scheme is a little different, more of an olive green and I have already ordered another model as I fancy a different coloured & patterned partner for my little deviant.No, we shouldn't have to repaint the supplied models but I really did enjoy the experience. It didn't take long and the payoff was well worth the initial disappointment. The model is by far and away the best I have come across. I have the T-Rex which I am now considering repainting (it doesn't need it, is again modelled from Jurassic Park but a fearsome piece), have the wonderful Allosaurus model on the way and will consider adding the others as and when.These models have really reignited my boyhood obsession with Dinosaurs, are so far superior to the one colour basic moulds I had as a boy and just look simply fantastic.

Its scale seems about right and its level of detail is amazing... it feels solid and some of the other reviewers repaint jobs are awesome but for my kids its good enough.

The Velociraptor from Papo is a total design off of the Jurassic Park Raptor, they managed to get the lip curve dead on unlike over versions and the paint job is perfect along with its detail on its scales. You can also attache him onto the side of the Papo Stegosaurus like he is attacking it by putting his arms on a plate and it looks very cool. His jaws can open and close like the Spinosaurus, T-Rex and Allosaurus and inside its tongue and teeth are very detailed. He is in good scale with the other dinosaurs too. If you love Jurassic Park Velociraptors, this is for you! Clever girl...

7yo dino happy child who just watched jurassic world movie and is very pleased that he now has Blue. Toy features are great, and really like the raptor's realistic looking face. Good solid product from Papo.

Good model but a little disappointed at the size.

Looks amazing just like the photo used to sell it. I'm very happy with it as this will be a gift.
