Q: How high can the temperature go on this?

The maximum you can set it to is 113 degrees F. Per the item description: Measuring Range Temperature control range: 0.0℃～45.0℃/ 32.0℉～113℉ Temperature measurement range: -5.0℃～50.0℃/ 23.0℉～122℉ Temperature display accuracy: 0.1℃/℉ (T = 100℃/℉) Temperature measurement accuracy: ±1℃/±2℉

Q: Can i use this for a dimmable halogen bulb?

I guess it would just turn it on or off. The dimming feature would not work. It’s just a switched outlet based on temperature.

Q: Can the temperature probes be extended? What type of cable would be required?

I have successfully lengthened the cables using a headset extension cable. No cutting and splicing, just plug and play. It must be a male to female 3.5mm TRRS type cable. They have a 4 pole pin and socket. I'm using a CableCreation 6ft with gold plated connectors from Amazon. I tested accuracy by placing the probes in a glass of warm water, one with extension and one without. I also have a lab quality mercury thermometer and the probes error wasn't any different than no extension. Just use a quality extension cable.
